Hockey Leagues

Corey Neilson Our 3 vs. 3 league is designed as a fun way to stay in shape throughout the summer and continue on the player's skating and skill development from the previous season. 3 vs. 3 hockey is a great way to force all players to become more involved in the game. Players must handle the puck and immerse themselves into the action because they have fewer line mates on the ice. By making the game proportionate for the younger players, they are able to get the get the puck and develop their skills and skating. A short warm-up will be followed by a non-contact scrimmage where your son/daughter will be forced to develop their puck handling and skating skills. In regular 5 vs. 5 league play, players can go for a few shifts at a time without even touching the puck or being forced to take it away from an opponent. As such, some kids have a tendency to just blend in to the play and don't really get a chance to work on all aspects of their game. In our scrimmages, everyone must contribute on offense and defense. It's a great way to build a well rounded player. This program is excellent for goalies as they are faced with numerous shots and offensive chances.

The Teen Ranch Olympic Ice Surface is the perfect setup for this program. The cross-ice boards are set up for scrimmages in our end zones while the neutral zone is used for the valuable instructional component. Between shifts players are put through some skill or skating development so they are constantly moving.

The 3 vs. 3 programs are on hold for now. Contact Corey for details.
